OUR RANGE OF MECHANICAL GLAND PACKING

Mechanical gland packing provides effective sealing in valves as well as rotary and reciprocating pump applications.

KLINGER has a comprehensive range of compression packing’s which are suitable for centrifugal or reciprocating pumps, agitators, screw conveyors and valves. KLINGER’s range includes patented specialised mechanical gland packing and concepts which assist our customers to meet, and in most cases exceed the stringent fugitive emission targets set by various environmental bodies and customers themselves.

Control of fluid loss is essential to the successful operation of mechanical equipment used in fluid handling. Various methods are used to control this leakage from pumps, valves and various other static applications, but the oldest and still the most common method is the use of compression packing, so-called because of the manner in which it performs the sealing function.

KLINGER’s compression packings are produced using the highest quality raw materials. The wide range of combinations provides a suitable sealing solution for many different types of applications.

Our range of compression packings consists of the economical traditional packings, to high specification PTFE grades, which utilize the latest technology to produce a product which cope with the highest demands of a modern fluid handling system.

SELECTION BY YARN

GRAPHITE / CARBON YARNS

Carbon and Graphite Packing are inert to most chemicals and have low frictional coefficients as well as being capable of being used in both cryogenic and high temperature applications.

PTFE YARNS

PTFE fibres have a high resistance to chemical attack and have low frictional coefficients in both acidic and caustic applications.

SYNTHETIC FIBRE YARNS

Synthetic fibre packing is manufactured from man-made fibres such as Acrylic, Aramid, Ceramic, Glass filament, Polyimide and other high performance materials.

NATURAL FIBRE YARNS

Also known as vegetable or cellulose fibres, they have been used in packing longer than man-made fibres.

PACKING MAINTENANCE TOOLS

Various packing tools to assist in the removal and installation of mechanical gland packing. Proper installation is key to maximise packing performance and using the correct tools minimises installation errors.
